With Christmas following so closely on the heels of Thanksgiving this year, many people are already diving into the holiday spirit early, and part of celebrating this time of year is decorating your space! From putting up the family Christmas tree, to blowing out your entire home (or your apartment patio) with lights, surrounding yourself with sights of the season is a big deal for many. If you spend most of your time in a cubicle or office though, it can be easy to feel like the holidays are passing you by.

- Put up a desk-sized Christmas tree! Many dollar stores and big box providers offer 1-2 foot artificial trees that can easily be placed on a desk in an office environment. Add some battery operated lights (often sold at the same store) and a handful of fun ornaments and you’re ready for the office Santa to come your way!
- Add some sparkle! If you’re allowed to plug things in, adding a few strands of Christmas lights can be a fun way to brighten up your cubicle or office (literally) during the holiday season. String them along the top of the cubicle walls, or place them around your office door.
- Wrap some empty boxes! All offices have empty boxes ready for the garbage bin. Why not repurpose them? Grab a few of varying sizes (depending on the size of the space you want to decorate), wrap in festive holiday paper, add some bows and voila! You have beautifully wrapped “presents” to adorn your space as you count down to Christmas.
- Share the joy. Even something as simple as a bowl of holiday candy on your desk can spread holiday cheer. Offer a piece to your coworkers when they come with a question, give a piece or two to clients after a meeting, and don’t forget to indulge in a piece yourself every now and then!
