This week, PHR Staffing Solutions was proud to play a part in our local Lakeland community by participating in SuitUp!, an event hosted by the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce where local college graduates could mingle with local businesses and fill out applications, learn more about potential jobs, etc.
PHR values these types of gatherings, because we truly value our home here in Lakeland and Polk County community, and being able to support our local graduates who have worked hard to finish school and enter the working world is a huge honor. SuitUp! gave us a great opportunity to meet some of these young people and give them a chance to fill out applications that could land them in a career to carry them through life. We don’t take this responsibility lightly, and we recognize the weight these job opportunities carry for those just starting out in a field. We hope some of last night’s visitors will eventually become PHR patrons and can look back and say that we helped them get into a job they love.
Not only did we enjoy interacting with the graduates at the event, but we also got the chance to mingle with other local businesses in our area. There were over 50 businesses represented at SuitUp! this year, and PHR was glad to learn more about our fellow Lakeland and Polk County business owners that are working alongside us to open career paths for the upcoming generation. It is very important to all of us as business owners to keep local talent here within our county when possible, since that is what supports a thriving economy and small business growth. Events such as SuitUp! give young people the ability to meet local business owners, and recognize the potential for careers right here in our town, rather than moving away and taking their talent elsewhere.
